Redi Ganpati Temple Sindhudurg

Redi Ganpati Temple is a small yet beautiful Ganesha temple situated to the south-west of Sawantwadi, in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, India. The temple enshrines Lord Ganesh in a sitting position. The idol is 6 ft high and 4 ft wide. It is believed that the image of Ganesha have been sculpted during the reign of the Pandavas.


Redi Ganesha Temple is regarded to be the place where Ganesh statue was enshrined in the temple from a mine in 1976. The temple is around 30 km from Vengurla. Ganesh Chaturthi is the most important festival celebrated in the temple and thousands of devotees visit the shrine to become part of the celebrations.

The ideal location of the temple near the sea makes it a popular tourist hangout spot as well.
