If a person(Jiva) makes his Deham (body) as a Savam(dead body) when he/she is very much alive through uniting the individual conscious with the Absolute consciousness then the individual(Jiva) becomes one with Siva(Absolute)
The above union would be possible only when the Buddi(intellect) embraces Sat/ Ekam/Nityam. Buddi embraces Sat due to the Krupa(grace) of a Sat Guru only.
When Buddi embraces Sat, the individual would treat the dual aspects like birth and death, day and night , hotness and coolness alike. This in turn implies that such a person is above Deha Moham. Prabhu Rama treated Ayodhya (capital) and Adavi(forest) alike.

Moon beautifies the night, night beautifies the moon. By both the moon and the night, the sky is beautified. Water beautifies the lotus. Lotus beautifies the water. And together, water and the lotus beautify the lake.

The meaning of this 'sloka' is :

The presence of the moon makes the night look beautiful. And the night highlights the beauty of the moon. Moon and night beautify the sky. The presence of water makes the lotus look beautiful. And it is the lotus which highlights the beauty of the water. Both the lotus and the water beautify the lake.

In a similar manner :

May the 'Guru' (Preceptor) 'beautify' the 'Sishya'

(Disciple)! May the 'Sishya' beautify the 'Guru'.

By the efforts of the 'Guru' and the 'Sishya', may

a good Society evolve!

Illusion can cover everything, even the way out of illusion

Illusion sometimes captivates us, as when we see a mirage in a desert. When allured, we can find a way out of illusion if, say, we have a travel guide who alerts us about the water's illusoriness. However, if the mirage captivates us so much with its promise of water that we start disbelieving the guide, then we would be in big trouble indeed.

Similarly, in material existence, illusion may cover us sometimes. Still, we can come out of it by proper guidance. However, if illusion makes us too proud to receive such guidance, thereby covering the way out of illusion, then we are in big trouble indeed. Such is the predicament of the demonic who do whatever they do, even religious activities, only for prestige.

The Bhagavad-gita (16.16) indicates that illusion covers them completely. Being addicted to sensual pleasures, they engage in reprehensible activities that sentence them to terrible destinations. The next verse (16.17) elaborates on the comprehensiveness of their illusion: it makes them complacent and impudent. They care neither for scriptural teachings, nor for scriptural teachers. Even if they do religious activities that are meant to purify and enlighten, they seek only social mileage by portraying an image of piety.. Illusion, by thus perverting their motives, blocks their path out of illusion.

Can they ever become undeluded? Yes, by grace. Sooner or later, the futility of their illusory pursuits registers in them, even if for the few moments when their desires are frustrated. During those moments, if they somehow contact Gita wisdom, either through spiritual association externally or divine intuition internally, then their illusion starts dissipating. On studying the Gita, they start practicing bhakti-yoga. By steady bhakti practice, they gradually realize the supreme spiritual reality, Krishna, and relish eternal love for him, thereby attaining the ultimate liberation.

Commentary: Duryodhana and others will certainly think that you have fled from the battle from fear of Karna and others, but not through compassion and reverence for elders and teachers. Duryodhana and others who have shown great esteem to you on account of your chivalry, bravery and other noble abilities, will think very lightly of you and treat you with contempt.

Your enemies, slandering your prowess, will use words which should never be uttered. What could be more painful than that?

Meditation Verse # 5. I salute Lord Krishna, the world-teacher, the son of Vasudeva, the destroyer of Kamsa and Chanura (demons), the supreme bliss of Devaki (his mother).

Meditation Verse # 6. With Kesava (Krishna) as the helmsman, verily was crossed by the Pandavas (family of Arjuna), the battle-river whose banks were Bhisma and Drona (two warriors of the Kuru army), whose water was Jayadratha, whose blue lotus was the king of Gandhara, whose crocodile was Salya, whose current was Kripa, whose billow was Karna, whose terrible alligators were Asvatthama and Vikarna(two more Kuru opponents), whose whirlpool was Duryodhana (Kuru warrior).

Lord Buddha gave utmost importance to sense control. To control your mind, you should control your five senses. Only then you can realise God. Develop the spirit of surrender. Perform all deeds with a spirit of devotion to God and as an offering to Him. Then your every action will become divine. Everything in this world can be acquired through love alone. Love is God, live in love. We can understand spirituality only by cultivating love. That is why I often say, "Start the day with love, Fill the day with love, Spend the day with love, End the day with love - This is the way to God". The world cannot exist without love. Everything is possible by the power of love. Never entertain bad or inappropriate desires, it will bring about your ruin. You can train your mind and senses to be peaceful and sacred by loving God always.
