Sri Rama Yasassu(glory) is as Visaalam (wide spread) as the light of a full moon day. It is Vimalam/Saasvatam (dot less) like the clear sky.
The mind(Manasu) of a person doing meditation(Dhyanam) on Sri Rama Tatvam(sixteen Sat Gunamulu of Sri Rama) is like a Pakshi(bird) flying in the sky carrying Sri Rama on its back.
The two wings(Pakshamulu) of that bird signify Dharmam(left) and Satyam(right) respectively .

Seeking satisfaction through accumulation increases accumulation, not satisfaction




We all want to be happy. However, where we seek happiness determines whether we will become happy or not.




Frequently, we look for happiness through possessions, through getting more and more things, delighting in being their owners and especially in parading them before others.




However, when we get something that we have craved for, it gives only temporary pleasure. Soon, its attractiveness fades, and something else that seems more attractive pops up, frequently as the possession of others, and we start craving for it. Eventually, the more we get, the more we crave to get more things. Such greed and insatiable desire are characteristic of the mode of passion, as described in the Bhagavad-gita (14.12) The mode of passion drags our attention and our desire from the things we have to the things we don't have. Even if we work hard enough and earn big enough to increase our possessions hugely, still there will always be things that we don't have. And the fixation of our consciousness on those things will keep us dissatisfied. Thus, we will end up with increased accumulation, but not increased satisfaction.




Gita wisdom explains that we can find lasting satisfaction not through accumulation, but through realization – through realizing our own spirituality, wherein we understand that we are eternal blissful souls, parts of the eternal blissful Supreme, Krishna. We can realize our innate joyfulness most efficaciously by practicing bhakti-yoga, which is the path of joy eternal (09.02). It connects our head, heart and indeed our whole being with our Lord who is the reservoir of unlimited joy.




Therefore, rather than letting our power to desire get futilely dissipated in craving and slaving for accumulation, we can direct that power towards Krishna by practicing bhakti-yoga. Through the resulting spiritual realization and devotional redirection, we can relish lasting satisfaction.

Why does accumulation not lead to satisfaction?

How is bhakti-yoga the path of joy eternal?

Namaskram performed by joining both the hands signifies a noble conviction in the mind (Sukshma Sareeram/invisible ware) of the concerned person that two human beings are equal irrespective of the differences in Sthula Sareeram (Anityam) consisting of Dasa Indriyamulu as represented by the ten fingers of both the hands.
First step.
But in the case of Mantra Japam , one should do Namaskaram to the Adhisthana Daivam(Administering deity of that Mantram) by bending down the head as the head symbolizes the Ahamkaram (personal ego). Ahamkaram here points out to Kaarana Sareeram(cause ware for software/hardware). This is the reason why one takes a dip of the head in water while doing Snaanam(bath) in a holy river. For a while Kaarana Sareeram becomes ineffective. That is why one does not feel cold when one`s head is completely immersed in the river water. The reason being Sukshma Sareeraram(mind) stops functioning once Kaarana Sareeram is down. Hence when one performs Namaskaram with the head means that one is shedding down Ahamkaram/ Kaarana Sareeram
Second step
It is the mind that experiences always the sensual pleasures/pains using the sensual organs(Jhnana Indriyamulu) as the interfaces with the Lokam (world) under the influence of Kaarana Sareeram. Accordingly mind is affected by Bhutamulu and Pischamulu when it starts doing any other job other than Indriya Vyaparam(sensual experience). Bhutamulu signifying the ex factors/ memories of the past experiences and Pischamulu signifying the current factors/memories distract the mind while doing Japam. So a person should recall the Parama Artham/Saaram(spiritual essence) of that Mantram to mind as Smaranam/Mananam(recollection) continuously while doing Japam so as to ensure that the mind does not lose the track due to the influence of Bhoota Pischamulu.
Third Step
Vaakku(speech) is a Jhnana Indriyam as well as a Karma Indriyam. Apart from this fact , Vaakku as Agni Swarupam has the capability of promoting water from its present form to the higher form(steam). Thus Vaakku as Jhnana Indriyam as well as Karma Indriyam and with the capability as a promoter is a representative of Sthula Sareeram to mind(Sukshma Sareeram). Thus as an interface it connects the body with mind.
Thus when Kaarana Sareeram is down, Sukshma Sareeram remains inactive and Sthula Sareeram becomes ineffective when SukShma Sareeram is down. In order to keep the Mano Bhaavam to flow continuously like a Nadi Pravaaham to reach the destination/ Saagaram(Adhisthana Daivam of the Mantram), one has to continuously utter Mantram through contemplating on Parama Artham (Absolute Knowledge). Paramaartham is infinite(Anantam ) as it is Suksmaati Sukshmam as well as Sthuaalti Sthulam. Thus by practicing the above said three steps one remains connected to the Adhisthaana Daivam of the Mantram during the Mantra Japam.

Today the spiritual exercises are confined to listening to talks and not to practising the teachings. Listening has become a kind of disease. Merely after listening, people go about bragging that they know everything. This crazy boastfulness is deepening people's ignorance. One should ruminate over what has been heard. After rumination, one should do Nididhyasana (put into practice the lessons). Only then there is the triple purity of thought, word and deed. Today people are content with mere listening to discourses. This will not lead to Realisation. The practice of Nama Likhita Japam(repeated writing of the Lord's Name as a spiritual exercise) promotes harmony in thought, word and deed (first think of the Lord's Name, then utter it and write). All these three processes should be carried out only with a pure heart.

[racchabanda] రచ్చబండ కవితలు

 

It is another cloudy day and a rainy day. As we wait for the new justice for the Supreme Court to be announced, I am learning on piano, a waltz of Johannes Brahms.  It is in A flat major, opus 39. No. 15. It is giving lot of relief from the oppressive heat and muggy weather.

This waltz is really pretty and I am almost there. Not too bad. Not too bad for an old girl. But, why not listen to Evgeny Kissin play it on the net. I think you will enjoy it.

శ్రీవేంకటేశ సుప్రభాతములో ఎక్కువగా వాడబడిన వృత్తము వసంతతిలకము. సంస్కృత కవులకు ఈ వృత్తము bread and butter లాటిది. సంస్కృతములో దీనికి యతి లేదు. తెలుగులో అక్షరసామ్య యతి లేక వడి 1, 8 అక్షరాలకు. ఇక పోతే ఈ వసంత తిలకమునకు ఒక కవల గలదు. దాని పేరు సరసాంకము. వసంత తిలకములోని మొదటి గురువును రెండు లఘువులుగా చేస్తే ఈ సరసాంక వృత్తము లభిస్తుంది. ఈ సరసాంక వృత్తమునకు యతి 1, 10 అక్షరాలకు. అనగా లయ రీత్యా వసంతతిలకములోని యత్యక్షరమునకు పక్కన ఉండే అక్షరముతో. శార్దూల మత్తేభ విక్రీడితములకు, చంపకోత్పల మాలలకు యత్యక్షరాలు లయ రీత్యా ఒక్కటే. మఱి వసంతతిలక సరసాంకములకు ఎందుకు ఈ తేడా?
