Re: [racchabanda] రచ్చబండ కవితలు

Poetry aside, your digs on Michelle Obama left far aside, I want your critique on SK's 'Corpse' stories. I will let you have my opinionated digs on him privately. I am now having a moderately priced Bordeaux! Good not great!!

If I am a judge, that poet will get an Oscar for penning just those lines. I am that kind of a judge.

Tonight is Oscar night. At 8pm ET. On ABC. No host though. This I got to see.

Why not get rid of presenters too! Award winners should simply see the announcements on the screen go and collect their trophies and leave the stage. Quietly. I really dread the times these too excited artists swing their Oscars wildly, in their hands, and I fear for the lives of the presenters who stand next to them.

Yeah! I prefer no speeches about winners' political bents, sexual bents.

No color coded dress messages, my sister, my sister acts. (Have you seen the Grammys? Alicia Keys –please give it up for my sisters - was so boring. What the hell was Michelle Obama doing on Grammys stage with Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, and Dolly Parton? Michelle Obama is not a God damn singer. She is not a musician. She is an ex-president's current wife. What kind of sisterhood is that? I guess it is celebrity sisterhood.)

The fun part in Oscar night these days for me is that I don't even know any of the movies that are getting all these awards. I am very behind in my movie viewing.

I saw Mary Shelley, made in (2017), a few days back.  On T.V. The biopic made me see Percy B. Shelley more favorably, (the actor is extremely handsome, and how can you help it.) I warmed up more to his poetry and to his viewpoints expressed on man-woman relationships. So I summoned a copy of P.B. Shelley's romantic poetry from Amazon.com. I will be reading that.

I also got a book in English - Autobiography of a corpse – (stories) by Sigizmund Krzhizhanovsky – introduction by Adam Thirlwell (refer to 'eemaata' magazine's current issue to get introduced to S.K., in Telugu. By Nagaraju Pappu.) I will be reading, both in English and Telugu.

And the lyricist of above quoted Hindi words I believe is - Majrooh Sultanpuri. I will always be listening to that song. Because it has those words. Of Course.

Lyla.
