SOME THOUGHTS OF LIFE IMPROVEMENT for LIFE


I know, none of us would be able to implement all as we are different personalities and in different profession. But, no harm in trying.

1. Take a 10-30 minutes walk every day. And while you walk, smile.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.

3. Sleep for 7 hours.

4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

5. Play more games.

6. Read more books than you did in past

7. Make time to practice meditation, yoga, and prayer. They provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives.

8. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.

9. Dream more while you are awake.

10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

11. Drink plenty of water.

12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

13. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.

14. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.

15. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

16.. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

17. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.

18. Smile and laugh more.

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.

20. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

21. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

22. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

23. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about. Don't compare your partner with others.

24. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

25. Forgive everyone for everything.

26. What other people think of you is none of your business.

27. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

28. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will.Stay in touch.

29. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

Food Wastes - Thought Provoking Facts
There are nearly one billion malnourished people in the world, but the approximately 40 million tonnes of food wasted by US households, retailers and food services each year would be enough to satisfy the hunger of every one of them.
The irrigation water used globally to grow food that is wasted would be enough for the domestic needs (at 200 litres per person per day) of 9 billion people - the number expected on the planet by 2050.
If we planted trees on land currently used to grow unnecessary surplus and wasted food, this would offset a theoretical maximum of 100% of greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel combustion.
10% of rich countries' greenhouse gas emissions come from growing food that is never eaten.
The UK, US and Europe have nearly twice as much food as is required by the nutritional needs of their populations. Up to half the entire food supply is wasted between the farm and the fork. If crops wastefully fed to livestock are included, European countries have more than three times more food than they need, while the US has around four times more food than is needed, and up to three-quarters of the nutritional value is lost before it reaches people's mouths.
UK Households waste around 20% of all the food they buy – but the good news is that this suggests a 17% reduction since 2007. We're improving!
All the world's nearly one billion hungry people could be lifted out of malnourishment on less than a quarter of the food that is wasted in the US, UK and Europe.
A third of the world's entire food supply could be saved by reducing waste - or enough to feed 3 billion people; and this would still leave enough surplus for countries to provide their populations with 130 per cent of their nutritional requirements.
2.3 million tonnes of fish discarded in the North Atlantic and the North Sea each year; 40 to 60% of all fish caught in Europe are discarded - either because they are the wrong size, species, or because of the ill-governed European quota system.
An estimated 20 to 40% of UK fruit and vegetables rejected even before they reach the shops - mostly because they do not match the supermarkets' excessively strict cosmetic standards.
8.3 million hectares of land required to produce just the meat and dairy products wasted in UK homes and in US homes, shops and restaurants. That is 7 times the amount of Amazon rainforest destroyed in Brazil in one year, largely for cattle grazing and soy production to export for livestock feed.
The bread and other cereal products thrown away in UK households alone would have been enough to lift 30 million of the world's hungry people out of malnourishment
4600 kilocalories per day of food are harvested for every person on the planet; of these, only around 2000 on average are eaten - more than half of it is lost on the way.
24 to 35% of school lunches end up in the bin.
An estimated 15 million tonnes of food wasted in Britain from the plough to the plate.

People think that good and bad are related to bad time. Not at all! Your thoughts alone are the root-cause. Hence, you should develop good thoughts and do good deeds. You should cherish good feelings and associate with good persons. Every one of you must also realise the preciousness of time. Today, most of you waste a lot of your available time.. This is utterly wrong. Time should be used always for the right purposes. That is the foremost duty of every individual. Waste of time is a waste of life. The Lord of time protects those who take refuge in Him, even against the Lord of death, Kala. In fact, the nation's prosperity is dependent on how people make use of their time in the performance of good actions!

The epics teach the path of devotion and surrender. They ask that one should do every deed in a spirit of dedication. Allow the wind of doubt or the sun of despair to affect the pot of Ananda (bliss) you have filled, and it will evaporate quickly. But keep the pot in the cool waters of good company and good deeds; it can be preserved undiminished for ever. Ananda too grows when you dwell on it in silence and recapitulate the circumstances which yielded it. That is why manana or inner reflection is such an important part of spiritual effort. Like the child which throws off its toys and starts crying, you too must realise the paltriness of the toys of fame and fortune, and call out for the Mother. The child feels that all else is trash before the love of the Mother and the blessedness of Her presence. One should not aspire for anything less.

ప్రకృతి అయిన జగదంబ అన్నాల భాండారం (అన్నపూర్ణ). ఎన్ని జీవులు ఎన్ని రకాలుగా తిని తిరుగుతున్నా తరగని భాండారం (సదా పూర్ణ). ఈ ప్రకృతి అంతా పరమేశ్వరుని శక్తి (శంకర ప్రాణవల్లభ). పవిత్రమైన ఈ చింతనతో అన్నాన్ని స్వీకరించేవాడు - అన్నం ఎందుకు తినాలో తెలిసినవాడు. 'జ్ఞానవైరాగ్య సిద్ధ్యర్థం' - జ్ఞానవైరాగ్యాలు సిద్ధించడానికి (మాత్రమే) అన్నం తినాలి.




తినే తిండి బుద్ధిని చైతన్యవంతం చేసి చక్కని జ్ఞానాన్ని కలిగించాలి. ఆ జ్ఞానం ఏది సత్యమో, ఏది అసత్యమో గ్రహించి మోహశోకాలను, రాగద్వేషాలను వదిలే దివ్యానుభవం పొందించాలి. అందుకే ఆహార స్వీకారం.




వండుకు తింటున్నామన్న అహంకారం తొలిగి, 'అన్నం అమ్మ పెట్టింది' అనే భావనే వాత్సల్యాన్నీ, మాధుర్యాన్నీ కలగలిపిన అమృతత్వాన్ని అందిస్తుంది.




అన్నపూర్ణ వడ్డిస్తుంటే ఈశ్వరుడు స్వీకరిస్తున్నట్టుగా ఉన్న చిత్రపటం మనకు సుపరిచితం. ఇందులో మర్మమేమిటంటే, "ప్రకృతి నుంచి తయారైన ఆహారం ముందుగా ఈశ్వరునికి నివేదించిన పిదప మనం స్వీకరించాలి". ఈ ప్రపంచంలో మనం అనుభవించేవన్నీ అన్నపూర్ణ ప్రసాదాలే. వీటిని ఈశ్వరార్పణ బుద్ధితో గ్రహించేవాడు ధన్యుడు.




ఇలా ప్రతి నిత్యం అన్నం తినేముందు మన భావనలో అమ్మ కరుణ కదలాడితే, జీవితాంతం ఆ తల్లి వాత్సల్యం అనుభవించగలం.
